Japan and the OECD

The Permanent Delegation of Japan to the OECD is a diplomatic mission established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) to facilitate the fulfillment of its missions and duties as a Member State of the OECD.

As the second largest contributor to the Organisation, our country is deeply involved and actively participates in the preparation and implementation of the OECD's programmes. In cooperation with the other countries, Japan helps the OECD to implement essential and high priority activities aiming at contributing to world's sustainable economic development.The Delegation supports approximately, 5 Ministers, 18 other parliamentarians, and 757 other participants coming from Japan to attend the OECD meetings annually.

Since February 21, 2017, His Excellency, Mr. Hiroshi OE, has held the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and the Permanent Delegate of Japan to the OECD.
